Sailing
“We have known Pete for nearly 40 years and admired his paintings, especially the sailboats. We enjoyed sailing, as did Pete. His depiction of sailing craft in extraordinarily bright and vivid color always attracted us to his work. The sailboats were in full sail, and you could feel the action of waves against the hull and the pull of the wind in her sails. "Action" was clearly the theme of a lot of his sailing paintings. Other sailboats were in calmer water, but the color was always just as vivid and bold. One could not just glance at Pete's work - rather, his work always kept you attracted to it, and brought you to - almost being part of the story behind the painted sailboat - being on board and sharing in the experience of God's hand in propelling the craft through both calm and white-capped waters.”
